Bridal Fashion Week- 2015 Edition

Well, it was Bridal Fashion week for the 2015 season and I didn't even realize it readers!! I was browsing through my favorite fashion sites trying to get inspiration for this weeks post, when I stumbled upon the greatest thing an excited bride to be could ever see... There is a fashion week solely for bridal fashion! OMG. Who knew!?  I mean when I think about it, it makes perfect sense, but is this like some hidden gem only brides to be know about? I have NEVER ever heard of it before. Anyways, to my great excitement and joy, I began diving into the looks for next season aka next year aka my wedding year!!! I have been looking at dresses left and right trying to figure out if I will be a lace bride, a tulle bride, a sexy tight dress bride, a mermaid bride, a long sleeved bride, a fluffy tulle gown bride or a sparkle and bead bride. There are so many options that is seems quite overwhelming so I had to make the executive decision to not try on any dresses until next seasons gowns are released.  In the meantime, it has been fun seeing all the dresses that are out there and allowing my imagination to run wild.

Below are just a few gorgeous looks from fashion week! There are several new trends that popped up this year. First and foremost, the heavy lace detailing, three quarter length sleeves, crop tops (YES, this is a thing) and a standout for me is the thigh high slits in dresses. Take a peek below at my favorites and let me know your thoughts too!

O.M.G. Monique Lhuillier has really outdone herself with this one. Ohhhhh! Im practically squealing as I type! The intricacy of the lace and the tule and the applique flowers is breathtaking. Again, Oh. My. God. I mean, can we just talk about that slit to expose the shoe!?  It gives you even more of a reason to buy a Choo or a Loub. This allows it to peak out perfectly. I want it!!!

How stunning is the Marchesa?! First off, it has the high lace over the bust area AND it has tulle all while having the appearance of a  softer styled mermaid dress. I absolutely love this look. How fashionable would a bride look in this gown!? This would definitely turn the church walkway into that fashion runway brides dream of.. or I mean I dream of!

How about this Houghton dress for the more non traditional bride! Are you a bohemian bride? This would be perfect for you! Its incorporating the crop top in a more elegant, lacy way. How cool would it be to incorporate that crop top after your wedding into your wardrobe! Talk about a two for one. I also much mention the beauty of the skirt. It has a touch of a high low which many brides like, all while have the princess feel with the full skirt. If I were more of a bohemian bride and if I was getting married in an enchanted garden, this would be for me. I really do find this lovely!!

This Pronovias dress is simple, yet stunning. I love the cut of the top and the nude underlay that allows the lace to really shine! This would be a great dress to carry you through the entire evening and to be able to dance in. This would be a beautiful, classic choice.

Ok, lets talk about this Reem Acra. Even if you aren't in the bridal frame of mind just yet or you are already married, how about wearing this gorgeous dress to a black tie function or to the Oscars, if need be? I kid, but seriously how major is this dress. The bead work alone should win a medal! This fashion power house always has beautiful designs and is very conscious of what makes a woman's body really shine. Now, if you have a church wedding, I don't believe this is appropriate but for anything else, go for it!!! Slits seem to be all the rage for new brides of this era to show some skin and thus bringing the wedding dress to a whole new level. I personally love it.

Lastly, this Carolina Herrera dress is simply amazing with the off the shoulder, three quarter inch lace sleeves and the ball gown style skirt. Ohhhhh I love this. This is classic and seems to be Grace Kelly/Princess Kate inspired. This is perfection. This is timeless. So much regal beauty here.

Hope you all enjoyed my favorite dresses from Bridal Fashion Week 2015. Stay tuned as I will make sure to share with you what major fashion moment aka what dress I decided to pick for our big day.

Until next time fashion friends!

XO-

Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
