corBridal Special Series: The Wedding

Readers,

Let me start by painting you a little picture. That moment you dream of as a little girl. That moment when you know you meet the right person your heart wants to love forever. That moment you dream of throughout an entire year of planning. The moment you walk down that aisle and marry the person of your dreams. Well, this all happened,  corBridal finally happened! My fantasy turned reality and it truly was the most magical, fun, day of my entire life to date. This time last month, we were basking in the glory of wedded bliss, living in those precious moments and preparing for a magical honeymoon to Hawaii! It was truly such a beautiful time in our lives!

Now, there were a few pieces of advice that every married person before me mentioned and they were totally right. One, that it was the happiest day of their entire life and two, the day will be a complete blur and go so fast. I have bits and pieces of moments and photos to pinch myself that it actually was real. I sometimes even have to look down at my wedding band to remind myself that it all really did happen. So, my unsolicited advice to anyone in the engagement process is remember its just one day, to really be in the moment and above all have fun!!!

As a way to capture my feelings and of course looks, I felt like it would be fun to share with my readers these special moments as I have been blogging about it for over a year. My mantra throughout the entire day was, " This is the Best Day Ever". Now, lets take a look back at that day and the few days leading up to the wedding extravaganza!!

Thursday- 10/8/15: Get This Party Started!!

On Thursday, our families and bridal party came to town. We went to an amazing Italian restaurant to celebrate all being together. It was such a great night filled with cheese, bread, pasta and of course vino!

What I wore:
Shoes: Steve Madden
Necklace: Forever 21

I also choose this dress for our "Save the Date" shoot. I was so excited to be able to wear it again on our first night of the weekend because I loved it so much!

Friday - 10/9/15: Rehearsal Fun!

The rehearsal was a fun blur as well. We went to a Mexican restaurant and enjoyed margaritas, sangria, tacos and flan! Mmmmmmm!!! Unfortunately, I have minimal pictures of my look as I was too busy to snap blog appropriate pics. This dress was amazing though and these pics for sure do not do it justice.

My happy face when my father in law gave us a funny book!

What I wore:
Dress: Adrianna Papell
Shoes: Steve Madden

Saturday - 10/10/15: Wedding Day aka The Best Day Ever!

Saturday morning came and it was the first time in the entire planning process I felt calm. I kept making jokes that I was zen Bride. Of course we had all the makeup essentials on hand, that didn't hurt either.

What we drank:
Champagne: Chandon

I had my makeup done by a MAC artist who was so amazing and kind. She knocked out 9 girls in 4 hours! Such talent!!

As they say, to complete your look its all in the details.

What accessories I wore:
Perfect Pair Shoe bag: Kate Spade
Lip Gloss: MAC
Earrings: Family heirloom. Similar here.
Perfume: Coach
Clutch: Kate Spade

Veils on, posing with my Mama.

What I wore:
Robe: Victoria Secret
Bracelet: Tiffany's

The two best friends a girl could ever have posing with their "Will you be my Bridesmaid" cards. Coincidentally, their final looks ended up matching the cards I gave them. This was completely unintentional as I originally wanted nude/blush, long dresses for the girls! I found these on ETSY and the shop is called First Snow Fall. They turned out amazing and you can find your own here!

And then... it happened. I got to marry my best friend!

What I wore:

Every time I went shopping for prom dresses growing up, my Mom would always tell me now isn't the time for a large, pouffy dress. Your wedding is when you can wear a ball gown and feel like a princess! Well, I finally achieved this goal! It was everything I dreamt it would be and more. To put it mildly, I was obsessed with my dress! It featured an illusion neckline, beaded bodice and tulle bottom.  My flowers were English Garden Roses and complimented the romantic look I was going for perfectly.

On to the lovely gents! I wanted to go for a very traditional, classy, timeless look. All of the groomsmen were in black tuxes with black vests and black bow ties. The groom wore a black tux, a white vest and my late fathers black and white checkered bow tie. He surprised me by wearing the bow tie and it made me smile so bright when I saw him at the alter!!

What they wore:

Next up, the lovely Bridesmaids. I wanted their look to vibe with the romantic color scheme of the wedding. Our colors were blush, cream, gold and gray and I wanted to enhance that with them!  They had petal pink, strapless dresses and an awesome sparkly belt to accent it. The florist made their bouquets look vintage and romantic by using gray, creme and pink traditional roses. I couldn't have asked for more, my sisters and best friends all looked incredible!!!

What they wore:
Shoes: Madden Girl

The reception was a blurred dream. Filled with our favorite champagne, heartfelt speeches, the best cupcakes and of course my favorite thing to do at weddings.. dancing!!! The night was a huge success! All those months of planning and saving and prepping were more than worth it. I can't stress enough how awesome those three days were! We are so thankful to our family and dear friends who celebrated us all year long. We are grateful beyond measure.

Thank you for coming along on this journey with me. This has been one of my favorite posts to write. I hope you enjoyed reading.

Until next time fashion friends!

XO-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
