Classics that Never Go out of Style- Purse Edition

I should start out by saying I have a weak spot for purses. I think the obsession started in 10th grade when my mother bought me this classic brown Coach purse,  and ever since I have been hooked and some even close to me would even call obsessed. A good purse can compliment your outfit, it can also help to define the look you are going for. Are you an edgy gal with a loud bag? Are you a conservative woman with a nude purse?  Or are you an adventurous lady with a leopard print bag!? See, there are so many things your carry all can say about you!

My obsession peaked to an all time high when I was in college. I had all this "money" leftover from my student loans one semester and I went crazy. Some might be thinking.. "Gosh Cor, isn't that money for you to live on and not have to work so hard at your waitressing job while you are in school??"-- Insert my mothers voice. Well, I had decided that I deserved to buy myself a Louis Vuitton! The Speedy Mono was my bag of choice and it was and continues to be such a classic. At the time, I justified it to myself by saying it was an investment piece and I would give it to my daughter one day. I still do not regret that purchase as I love it as much as the day I bought it. My mother to this day however still thinks I'm crazy for that purchase.

I thought it would be a fun post idea to create a list of purses that are timeless. My thought process, as clearly stated above is, if you are going to buy something, might as well be what you want and something that you can wear for years to come. Try to get the most out of your money at all times, is my motto!

Lets talk about Coach. Coach, used to have all these monogram prints and it was so showy for so many years, but it was also what was in style. Their latest collections of colorful leather are so much more timeless and so classy! I have a few pieces from their latest collections but you can not go wrong in my mind with a look such as the below:

This purse is just stunning! Simple rose colored leather and gold hardware. You could wear this purse for years to come and the best part is it also comes in a standard nude and black. You can purchase this georg purse here Coach.

Michael Kors burst on to the purse scene with this style bag about 5 years ago. This bag is very much reminiscent of the Hermes Birkin bag or even more recently the adorable Celine Boston Tote, but more affordable for the people who can't spend truly absence amounts of money on a bag. I was so excited to buy this bag, I own it in slate gray, but find it very attractive in black.

I have always wanted a Birkin, but feel as my Fiancé would disown me if I spent $18,000 on a purse instead of a wedding. HA You can purchase this georg MK bag here.

I have two words for you, Louis Vuitton. You know I have a love for the brand from the above story. I hate that there are so many fakes out there. I have never understood fake purses. You in your heart know its a fake, and its trying to be something its not, so why wear it!? At any rate, this style bag has always been one I have lusted after. Its so chic and would be prefect for traveling or for schlepping your office laptop to and from home and work. If you are going to schlep, might as well do it in style!

Louis has also gotten on the brightly colored leather bag band wagon! All sorts of your favorite styles are now available in classic colors. But this print is so timeless and fashionable, its been on my Christmas list for several years (hint hint)!! You can purchase or view it here.

Longchamp. Ahhh classic at its finest. Every time I see a Longchamp bag, I envision myself being in New York, or in the Hampton's and living a yacht lifestyle. This is a fantasy people, don't ruin it! Its a bag that never goes out of style. Very sophisticated and lovely.

If you want to take this bag on your next summer vacation, you can purchase here. They also have many other colors and styles you can chose from. This look happens to be my favorite. It is also great for traveling and for lugging things to and from the office. When I was in college, this was the bag of choice for lots of girls. Its just a great piece.

I love Kate Spade. They have every cute thing you could ever need from champagne glasses, to dresses to purses and wallets. This particular bag reminds me of the classic patchwork Chanel bag. I love this bag because it is a little more affordable and effortlessly classy.

I love the hardware details too! It also comes in black and a hot pink! You can purchase here.

I went to Italy the summer I turned 20 and again I became obsessed but this time with Gucci. Ever since, I have had this urge to purchase one of their beautiful Italian leather pieces. Over the years, my purse of choice has changed, but this bag is just so gorgeous. It doesn't scream Gucci and it isn't what you would except out of the Italian powerhouse either. Its understated and timeless. You couldn't go wrong with this bag.

It comes in three different colors and its just so pretty with the pebbled leather. I want it!! You can purchase it here!

Lastly, a bag that is so pretty one must lust after it. The Givenchy Nightingale bag. Georg, georg, georg. I love the detail on the handle and the strap. The gold hardware is the perfect touch. This bag will never go out of style.

You can purchase this bag here and be forever fabulous!

Hope this classics guide will help you in your next bag purchase. Its not something to be taken lightly as it is quite the investment piece. Hopefully you will have the bag of your dreams for years to come!

Happy Shopping readers!!

XO-

Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
