In my opinion, floral prints have become more popular than usual this year. I have always loved this type of look because it is so feminine and elegant but the prints are so major right now that I am more obsessed than ever! I always think of the line from the Devil Wears Prada...
Meryl Streep's character Miranda straight faced proclaims, "Florals, for Spring... Groundbreaking". I know this isn't a groundbreaking trend, but it is more popular than previous years in my opinion!
You can dress up or down floral prints, you can wear it as separates or as a full dress. Here it is seen on the runways looking as elegant as ever.
You may have noticed that this seasons floral prints are more bold than ever before. Use this towards your advantage and really shine this summer. Do not be afraid to incorporate this trend into your look in whatever aspect you can think of. For a few weddings I am going to I will be rocking floral print, but I have also found that it is great to transitions these pieces to the office in various ways.
Now to the fun part-- lets get shopping!!
This dress is from H&M and can be purchased here. This look can be worn with a denim jacket on those cooler summer nights and even with a shoe such as these. You could always go classic and pair a blazer and nude shoes with this look as well. The great thing about H&M is that if they have one lovely pattern they usually utilize it in other ways such as this print in a great tank top! For $12.00, can you really beat that deal!??
Slacks look amazing in this floral print as well. Especially if you pair them with a neutral top and some denim. This is a great look that can go from the office during the day to dinner at night. The below pair is made by J. Crew and unfortunately no longer available anywhere. This is a total shame because I badly wanted to buy them! However, you can get a similar pair from H&M for $15.00. I absolutely love and own the below pair and get many compliments on them. Since it is Summer, I have been wearing a white, gray or cream color shirt to lighten up all the black.
H&M Purchase here
Lastly, why not transition some floral into your bathing suits this summer.
One of the cutest bathing suits I found was this great one piece J. Crew suit. One piece suits are also back in a big way- just FYI. This suit is thankfully available for purchase!!
Hopefully this post will help you navigate the floral waters this Summer! I know I will be incorporating as much floral print as I can until the fall!
If you have any photos of you looking fab in floral, please upload to my Instagram page!! You can find the link to the left of the blog post. Until next time fashion friends,
