Fit Friday-- Trends in Athletic Clothing

I love working out. In fact, I am obsessed with working out ever since I moved to a new place. My favorite new workout method is Barre. When I started going on a regular basis, besides noticing elongated muscles on myself, I also noticed that everyone dresses in the cutest workout attire. Maybe I hadn't noticed this because I had quit my gym membership years ago and had begun working out at home with the DVD method. My favorites being, Jillian Michaels and Ellen Barrett.

Now, I haven't been living under a rock. I knew places such as Lulu Lemon exist, but I hated to think that yoga pants would be upwards of $70.00. After seeing all the cute outfits at Barre class, I decided to go to my nearest Forver 21 and see what clothes I could get for a sweet bargain. After seeing their amazing selection, I decided that buying workout clothes that are cute and flattering make me want to go to class! I know, I know.. crazy! But it works for me! Does this methodology work for anyone else??

I found several articles on this phenomenon and for starters, listen to what the Huffington Post had to say, "Yoga pants are the new jeans, neon sports bras have become the "it" accessory and long athletic socks are hipper than high heels" Now, you and I both know I would never say athletic socks are hipper than high heels, but its this concept that is so interesting to me! Maybe athletic clothing became more prevalent when Stella McCarthy and Alexander Wang started designing them? That coupled with chain retailers to make things more accessible for the everyday consumer made this trend boom.

I wanted to feature a few of my favorite looks and places to get super affordable, fashionable pieces. We all want to be looking great at all minutes of the day anyways right!? Might as well work up a sweat looking hotter than ever!

Alright- how many times have we all been into Target to buy toilette paper and ended up browsing the entire store and picking up shoes, bath towels and a cute lamp!? Gosh, I hate to admit this but it happens to me a lot. Target has some really fashionable, really affordable pieces. If you are in the market for some check here or here! Sometimes I find, especially with Target going in person is really the way to go! Photo Source.

The Gap has the most comfortable, cozy workout clothing material! My good friend, who I will lovingly refer to as Kiki, and I discovered this when we were browsing one day. We initially got them to workout in... and then, they became comfy wear around the house pants. This has happened to everyone right!? You should really check them out! Here and here or ever here are good options for you to start out with! Photo Source

My latest obsession happens to be Fabletics!!! Very affordable, very comfortable, extremely fashionable clothing coming from Co-Founder Kate Hudson's company. I stumbled upon this company when I saw the amazing deal they feature above on their website. I ordered and have been hooked ever since. The great thing about Fabletics is that you get three pieces for the price of two or in some stores cases even one. They use really good quality fabrics and I haven't been disappointed yet. Some of my favorite looks that I have bought myself are here, here and here! I hope you get a chance to try them!

Last, but certainly not least, every girls favorite friend on a budget.. Forever 21! I was very impressed with their large array of workout clothing. They have amazing colors and are always switching out their looks! If you are like me, and like to switch things up pretty regularly, this is the place to do it! Especially for workout clothing. I have had nothing but good luck with their quality and fabrics.. This is saying something I know. If you are wanting to try Forever 21's workout clothing try here, here or even here! Photo Source.

  1. Gapfit is my go to! - For around the house activities as well as the gym, yoga or spin class. They transition in and out of the house so seamlessly; in addition to being beyond amazing for ladies like me with some extra junk in the trunk – keeping all the goodies tucked away but still looking fab! So nice to see my go to making your list! Keep the tips coming!

  2. Thinking to take a resolution on New Year to do a regular workout and for that have to buy work out gear so that my exercise will be more comfortable and easy. Have to visit a nearby store to buy them. Hope will get them on good rates.

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
