Flashback Friday- Iconic Fashion Moments from Sex and the City

Those who know me know my love affair with Sex and the City. No matter how many times I have seen the entire series, when its on E! I always stop to watch. Michael Patrick King had a way with writing and directing the characters so you grew to fall immensely in love with them as the time went by. The show starts out in 1998 with four main characters Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte and ran until April 2004.  Over ten years later, it is still in syndication and its content is still as relevant as ever before.

I don't know how many times my girlfriends and I have quoted the girls over the years. Below are some of my favorite quotes (Sex and the City Quotes) and (IMDB):

I am someone who is  looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.”-Carrie

"The good ones screw you, the bad ones screw you, and the rest don’t know how to screw you." -Miranda & Samantha

"I've been dating since I was fifteen. I'm exhausted. Where is he?" -Charlotte

"The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don't. But, in the end, they're the people you always come home to. Sometimes it's the family you're born into and sometimes it's the one you make for yourself."- Carrie

"Abso-fucking-lutely"- Mr. Big

"I revealed too much too soon. I was emotionally slutty"- Carrie

"I once was broken up with by a guy's doorman: "I'm sorry Ms. Hobbes, Jonathan won't be coming down. Ever."- Miranda

I thought it would be fun to take a look through some of Carries most iconic outfits over the years! The shows costume designer, Patricia Fields, is one of the best in the business and always thought of every single detail for these characters. I loved watching each week for the content, but also watching to see what crazy outfits Carrie would have on! (Wikipedia)

This John Galliano for Christian Dior dress is featured here in the 2008 movie but she also had worn this dress in season 3 while she was apologizing to Mr. Big's wife Natasha for her affair with him. (InStyle)

Carrie wearing a beautiful dress "The Russian" bought her made by Oscar de la Renta. Here they are seen slow dancing over french fries at McDonalds. One of my favorite scenes they were in together in Season 6 (InStyle)

The famous Carrie Tutu from the opening credits re featured in the film! (InStyle)

The Versace gown worn by Carrie while she was in Paris during Season 6. In this particular scene she was waiting on "The Russian" to come home from his gallery to take her out for a night on the town. (InStyle) I adored all the ruffles this dress had. This moment really epitomizes the idea of the fairytale gone wrong.

Carrie famously standing in front of the Eiffel Tower in her Sonia Rykeil outfit. I remember seeing her in this outfit and absolutely loving it!! (InStyle) Stripes really do look great on SJP.

Carrie wore this outfit in Season 4 trying to go on a proper goodbye to New York with Mr. Big, who was moving to Napa. That was until Miranda's son Brady decided to make his debut. Carrie is seen here in her hot pink, ruffled Christian Louboutins!! They were later "ruined" by Miranda's water breaking all over them. (InStyle) I remember seeing these red soled shoes for the first time and falling in love with them!!!

Carrie is seen here in a Romper on a trip to the farmers market in Season 4. The article I found this outfit in referenced her being ahead of her time! Case in point (corStyle). Her romper was made by a Claude Pierlot. I happen to love it as it totally epitomizes her characters quirky fashion. (InStyle)

This is from the very last scene of Season 6
when Carrie returns back to NYC after Mr. Big rescues her from Paris. She is back to her lovable, loud New Yorker fashion. This was the best scene because we got to see Mr. Bigs real name after 6 long years, John. (InStyle)

Last but not least, one of my all time favorite scenes that always makes me tear up is seeing all of the girls saying goodbye to each other while Carrie is on her way to move to Paris. She is seen here in her light pink feather ensemble and it was one of my all time favorite looks of her. I thought it would be a good blog send off to see a clip of the girls in action.

Do you all love Sex and the City as much as I do? If you do, this blog is dedicated to you.

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
