Fashion Review - 2016 Met Gala

Readers!!

It's that time again to cover the Met Gala!  I am so excited to cover my third Met Gala and for this years theme to be "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology." It's the 70th anniversary of the gala and the stars as usual flocked in truckloads to tonights festivities! A few facts this year that I was unaware of previously, one tickets is upwards of $25,000 and only Anna Wintour can confirm the list as she is the evenings host. Two, usually fashion houses buy the tickets and give them to celebrities of their choices who will wear their looks. Three, proceeds from the fundraiser go to the Met's annual budget.

There were so many amazing looks of the evening that it was hard to pick my favorites but I had few celebs that stood out from the pack more than others. Lets get right into who slayed and who didn't quite make the cut:

Frieda Pinto looks absolutely stunning in Tory Burch.

Naomi Watts looked insane in Burberry!

Lily Aldridge in Michael Kors looking beyond.

Naomi Campbell in Roberto Cavalli rocking it tonight! Sooo beautiful! One of my favorites of the evening!

Lupita Nyuong'o in Calvin Klein Collection. She looks STUNNING! That minty green is just so beautiful and the sparkle! YES!

Solange Knowles in David Laport giving us 2015 vibes. Im not impressed. Maybe next year she can go for something different.

Beyonce coming out strong after an incredible week of album sales in Givenchy. She is really giving us "6 inch heels" here. Get it girl! Slay all day!

Blake Lively, preggo in Burberry! She is so pretty, I have seen her looking better but this woman can do no wrong.

Alexa Chung in Thakoon going for the jumpsuit! YES! Sequins and pants.. I mean come on!! LOVE.

Guess who.... that my friends is none other than Katy Perry rocking Prada. Shocked that that is her! I don't hate the look, I don't love it. Sort of theme appropriate.

Everyone is waiting each year to see what Kim will wear to the Met Gala since the Givenchy flower dress. She did not disappoint this year in Balmain! She looks incredible and perfectly on theme.

Allison Williams in Peter Pilotto. YES!!!!!!! This is another one of my absolute favorites of the night. Head to toe winner. I guess I love a good cutout in a dress.

Madonna in the same Givenchy she wore to the Grammys. Oh, just kidding. SICK. This is awful.

Zoe Saldana looks like a perfectly put together peacock in Dolce & Gabbana. I actually love this look. Get it girl!

Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa looking so so beautiful. Not sure this is on theme for the evening, but my goodness is this a beautiful look! Obsessed!!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. That is all.

Is Kate Hudson the most beautiful girl in the world? My vote, yes. Inside and out GEORG especially in this Atelier Versace. One of my best dressed of the evening picks, yet not very theme appropriate!

Kerry Washington!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE and love the baby bump. So pretty in Marc Jacobs, and the purple hair completes the look!

Cindy Crawford in Balmain. OMG. SHE LOOKS INSANE. 50 years old this woman. #Goals.

Kyle Jenner in Balmain. She looks so sophisticated and beautiful. LOVE!

My favorite Kardashian/Jenner look of the evening Kendall in Atelier Versace! SLAY.

Alesandra Ambroso in Balmain. I love this rope look, its so pretty and unique and the belt makes this one look on theme.

SJP the queen. Hair right on point. However, and it pains me to say this.. she looks, more like the Beast from Beauty & the Beast.

Rita Ora so beautiful in Vera Wang! So, so beautiful!

I must say, this year there were more good than bad looks! I am super impressed!! Great turnout and beautiful clothes. As always, sound off below! What was your favorite, what did you love and what did you hate?!

Until next time fashion friends,

XO-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancé   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
