Fashion Review- 2015 SAG Awards

Award show season is now in full swing!! I truly love this time of year seeing all the stars dressed to the nines! Tonight's red carpet is none other than the SAG Awards. The SAG Awards are so special because the awards are for television and for film. It is so much fun to see both worlds collide! There are 2100 members of the union who are randomly selected each year and they get to vote for the winners of the evening. The best part of this night for the actors is, its said to be indicator of success at the Academy Awards. (Wikipedia)

Starting off, lets get right to the best dressed of the evening:

Viola Davis rocked it tonight in this gorgeous cream color frock. I just love the cut of this dress on her. She is very on trend! I absolutely love her and her fashion sense is just the icing on the cake. I hope she wins for How to Get Away with Murder! If you haven't seen the show, do yourself a favor and watch it.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus looks super chic and classic in this gorgeous black lace Monique Lhuillier number. A few years ago, she wasn't really bring all she had to the red carpet and as of late she has been looking so fab!!! I love her from her Seinfeld days and now of course for Veep. You go girl!!

Gretchen Mol, made famous for her role in Boardwalk Empire, looked completely radiant tonight on the carpet. From the illusion neckline to the all over sparkle of the nude dress shining through, its just stunning! She looks so fabulous!

I know I mostly review women's fashion on corStyle. However, I couldn't resist adding in a pic of this hottie, Kit Harrington. He is wildly know for his role in Game of Thrones and he looks tooooooo good for words tonight! Work it Kit. Ladies, your welcome.

Another Game of Thrones actress, Emilia Clarke seen here rocking this simple chic Donna Karen Atelier look. I love the black and blue color and the way the blue transitions into a cape! The look is so simple but really pops when she turns around!! I must say, a little more work could have gone into the hair though.. eeek.

Kiera Knightly looks so beautiful in this purple lace peplum Erdem gown. I wish she would have worn this to the Golden Globes instead of that awful butterfly Channel number. It irritates me to even have to have a visual of that look again. Tonight,  she looks so lovely and is rocking her pregnancy and this dress brings everything to a whole other level.

Julienne Moore seen here in another Givenchy Couture number. She looked so stunning tonight and I adore the green color of her dress that pops against her red hair. Her jewels are Chopard and I thought it was so interesting that her stylist went with purple tones. It worked for her in a major way!!

Reese Witherspoon looked absolutely stunning in this cream custom Georgio Armani. I have always adored the one shoulder look and I'm happy to see it come back again. Her hair, makeup and jewels compliment this look to perfection. On the red carpet, the sparkle of the top came through ever so subtly. I just love Reese and she didn't disappoint this evening!!

Lets transition now to worse dressed:

Vicky Jeudy, best known for her role on Orange is the New Black, looks like an ice skater gone wrong here. I think she forget where she was going this evening.

Boyhood actress Lorelei Linklater looked rather interesting this evening. To be frank, I can't get over the awfulness that is this dress. In your mind, you think this is just an "LBD", how could an it go so wrong... and then you see the bell bottom nun sleeves. The long curls surrounding her face just send this look over the top, in all the wrong ways. Better luck next time Lorelei.

Amanda Peet is seen here in J. Mendel. Yikes. I understand she is pregnant but, what and why is that rosette accentuating the middle of her stomach. It's not the prom. Enough said. Im sorry, Im not sorry.

Scarlette O'hare I mean Alysia Reiner from Orange is the New Black is seen here looking interesting in red.  To be fair, I love the red color of this dress. Thats where the love ends. The top of this dress is awful and its not to be out down by her hair and makeup. Awful. Awful. Awful.

That wraps up my best and worse dressed for the evening! I hope you all enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed writing it! We will reconvene for our next fashion review at the Oscars which airs February 22, 2015.

Until next time fashion friends!

XO-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
