Series: Fashion Review - 2016 Oscar Awards

It's Oscar night! It's Oscar night! It's Oscar night!!!!

Tonight, the gliteratti descend onto Hollywood and wow us with insane fashion highs and lows. The Oscar's to me legitimately are equivalent to the Super Bowl. They are so much fun and in my opinion should be celebrated!

Here are my Mom and my Aunt. My Aunt inspired me to begin corStyle about 5 years ago. Thank you C!

What I wore:
Dress: Forever 21. Sold out, similar here.

My family was awesome enough to come to town and indulge me in corStyle's first ever blogger Oscar party! We had cocktails, dainty apps and even a popcorn bar! What a wonderfully fun Sunday!

The spread. MmmmmMMM!

Popcorn Bar!!! We also filled out ballets and took bets on who would win tonight to make it more for for all.

Alright, let's get right into it with the fashion highs:

Kerry Washington!!! Yes girl! LOVE. This woman slays in literally every single thing she wears.

Louis Roe looking georg in this light pink dress with major gold clutch I love that color! Pretty evident by my bridesmaid colors.

Michael Strahan looking as dapper as ever. I love that he chose a different color suit than the classic black number. Color choices in suits this year were a big trend. Obsessed!

Mindy Kaling looks super beautiful this evening. I love a good train and the contrasting black and blue colors are insane. You go Mindy!

Daisy Ridley looks so pretty tonight. I love the soft grayish blue of the gown, the peplum style and the jewels. This dress translated VERY well on television. I love her sparkly ankle strap shoes and her delicate jewels. SLAY!

Charlize Theron looks like a true movie star. Red hot and fancy free! SLAYYYYYYY! Too many slays? I think not!

Look out readers, Kate & Leo. Round of applause people!! Lets hope these two win tonight!!!

Olivia Wilde. OK- I mean, she is beyond beautiful. I LOVE this look. There is something about pleats I am always wild for. I love her clutch, her jewels, her make up and her hair. Done and done ✓

Priyanka Chopra looks so regal this evening. I love the nude like color of the gown and the lace overlay. The belt is perfection and the color of her lip compliments the entire look. Best dressed nominee in my book!!!

Oliva Munn pulling out the classic oscar movie star card. This is what a movie star should look like. Classically styled hair, delicate jewels. Class, class class. Another best dressed nominee!!

Hot couple alert! Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts. He is a seriously attractive man and she looks like a sparkly mermaid. Love!

Margot Robbie looks like a little, glowing Oscar statue. She is so beautiful and I love the way she glistens in this dress. One note- I hate her clutch. HATE it.

Another hot couple alert!!!! I wish Chrissy Teigen was my friend. From her amazing jokes, to her love of cooking, I swear we could be bff's! I also love that John is dressed in a classic tux. Perfection!

Lastly, J. Law. How pretty and different is this look. She looks amazing! I can't think of a better way to end with her on the highs of the season!

Lets get to the fashion lows of the evening:

Diane Warren.. I mean, really. Could you have tried a bit more here? Egh. No words.

Whoopi Goldberg has a spider on her hand. IDK, I can't with this look.

Patricia Arquette. Ick. Call me if you want a new stylist. There is no reason why she is always dressed so frumpy! No thank you!!!!

Heidi Klum. Tisk, tisk. I expected so much more from you. Purple explosion, I can't handle it. Hire someone new to give you advice please.

Matt Damien and Luciana Barroso look exhausted and like they could be less enthused to be at the Oscars.

This wraps up this awards season! Wow, what a great fashion season it was.  I hope you all had as much fun as I had blogging about it.

Until next time fashion friends,

Xo-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
