Series: Fashion Review - 2016 Grammy Awards

I can't believe the Grammy's are tonight! One because I had to work all day and couldn't prep and get as excited for the fashion tonight as I would have liked and two because its a Monday. Monday seems like a strange evening for an awards show, but in the spirit of positivity and fashion I am rolling with it!

I love the Grammy's for the amount of wow factor that the stars come out of the gate with. The stars don't normally take the safe approach on this red carpet and its awesome because you never know what they are going to throw your way! Lets get right into the major wins and major fails of the evening:

Major wins go to:

Adele!!!!! OMG she looks so slim and trim and major!!! Ugh.. I just love her!!! This is the definition of effortlessly chic.

Skylar Gray rocking major Grammy love tonight. I really don't know why I love this so much but I really do. This I am calling my wild card of the evening!! Wild and something I wouldn't normally love, but this woman is rocking the top knot, the cape and the sheer all at one time. Rock on Skylar.

Travis Greene rocking major velvet in his tuxedo this evening. I love this look in a big way and I love that its a unique and trendy way to capture the tuxedo vibe.

Hello Sam Hunt. You're welcome ladies. Side note, interesting suit color choice, but I don't hate it.

Excuse me!!!! Hot couple alert! The Weeknd and Bella Hadid looking insanely amazing!! Slay, slay, slay!

Another major hot couple alert!! John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. I love them, that is all. They both look awesome. I like that he took a chance and went with a different look other than the classic suit. She always looks flawless IMO!

Kaley Cuoco looking georg in this cutout, glitter jumpsuit. I don't know if she has ever looked better!!!! This look screams the Grammy's to me.

Selena Gomez, tonights glitter girl. She is so pretty and looks confident and classy yet fun and young.

Ciara!!! Animal print, high slit, great hair!!! What else can I say but, slay! She has been looking so on point lately.

Finally, Lady Gaga bringing her signature look for the evening!! She is wild and wacky, but she has been so tame lately I thought this version of herself was gone. She still has it! Girl looks very "David Bowie" esque for her tribute performance tonight to the late singer. Call me crazy, but I love it!!

Grammy fails go to:

Elle King who is made famous this year for her insta amazing song Ex's and Oh's looks... less than ideal in my mind. This is her first Grammy's, she could have done it up a bit more. On a positive, I love her purse and jewelry.

Manika.... Going for the red carpet show girl effect this evening. Killer diamonds and boots as a PS.

Jacquelene Van Bierk. Now, this is a wild look HOWEVER this is what you expect out of a Grammy's red carpet! Icky though. Who styles these people?!

Here is big bird.. I mean Cam. I rest my case.

Last and I hate putting her here because I love her.. Taylor Swift! I just expect so much more from her. I love the contrasting colors, but this reminds me so much of the outfit she wore last year. Two years with the high low is two years too many in a row. I do LOVE the colors and the crop top though. Just a slight miss for me.

That wraps up this edition of Fashion Review! Join me on 2/29/16 for a very special Oscar edition filled with highlights from my annual party and all the major stars fashion!

Until next time fashion friends,

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
