Series: Fashion Review - 2016 Golden Globes

Good evening my lovely and stylish readers,

Award season has finally begun! This marks my second full award season review on corStyle and I couldn't be any more excited about it. This season is extra special for me because it will culminate with an Oscar viewing party in February with the very woman who inspired me to begin corStyle. The looks this year seriously did not disappoint. Lets get right into it!

First up, the Good:

Gina Rodriguez seen here in Zac Posen. She looks absolutely beautiful! I love her and her show, Jane the Virgin. If you haven't seen it, it has incredible writing in a way that makes the unusual story line whitty and extremely funny. Season one is on Netflix, so don't worry you can #netflixandchill.

J. Lo!!!! Slay!! God she is killing it lately. I love everything about this Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown! From the marigold color, to the cape to the fantastic sparkly shoe. Yes. Yes Yes!

Amy Adams is truly rocking this beautiful Atelier Versace gown. I particularly love this color and the very delicate sparkle bodice that flows to the floor. Were is my hand clapping emoji when I need it!?

Jennifer Lawrence slaying tonight in a cutout red Dior number. How georg is that chocker necklace too!! Only complaint is I don't love how her hair photographed.

Lady Gaga is looking very Marilyn Monroe with her fiancé Taylor Kinney. I might add, he looks super handsome. Lady Gaga has really been bringing her A game recently, especially in this custom Versace gown. Long gone are the weirdo meat outfits and spiky, sparkly looks. I must say, I love this classier, confident more sophisticated Gaga.

Ahhh, Leo. Leonardo DiCaprio looking extra luscious this evening.

Well hello Angela Bassett!!! She looks phenomenal in the color of the night! You know, I must say this bright, coral red is quite the trend this year on the carpet!

Julienne Moore!!! Slay slay slay! Here she is seen in Tom Ford.

Queen Latifah rocking this aqua color gown with that beautiful beaded detail around the neckline. She has never looked better in my opinion!

Kate Hudson in Michael Kors. O.M.G. Lets get real, this woman rarely can do wrong. The color is beautiful, the sparkle is on point and the choker is perfect for the bodice or lack there of should I say. A fun fact to note, this dress is actually a one piece. If my abs looked like this, I would chop all my one piece dresses to look like this.

Jon Hamm. Again, you're welcome.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum looks so beautiful in this Zuhair Murad Couture dress! Having her husband by her side doesn't hurt either.

Louis Roe looked stunning in this grecian goddess number. How amazing is that shoe!! She is beautiful! Bravo!

Will Smith. YESS!

Next, the Bad:

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has picked better in previous years. Her body is right on point, but lets get real this isn't her best look.

Calista Flockhart. Eeeeeeeeep!!! Hate it. Awful. Ick. Almost, almost went into the ugly category!

Major Katy Perry Prada let down. The hair is awful, the dress is underwhelming. For someone that usually gives us a lot more, this one is just so blah.

Jada Pinkett-Smith. Egh. Can't handle it and the matching shoe makes it even worse. Ugly with an extra capital U.

Bryce Dallas Howard in Jenny Packham. This is just not my favorite.

Lastly, and my personal favorite the Ugly:

Kate Bosworth. Thumbs down, and I am someone who enjoys a good sparkle. No.

Maril Davis, this isn't a pool party. Ick.

Hate Malin Ackerman in this. Can't exactly put my finger on it, but the silhouette and the beading and lace is just awful to me.

Patricia Arquette, my lord doesn't she know Christmas has come and gone. She is always dressed so awful though so what else can we expect.

Judith Light, I couldn't help but for real laugh out loud.  YIKES.

I hope you enjoyed the run down this year of the Golden Globes! Stay tuned for more reviews later in the season!

Until next time readers-

XO-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancé   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
