As a newly engaged woman, I thought it would be fun to have a reoccurring post on the blog re all things weddings! First topic up for discussion will be The DRESS. Did anyone else get that overwhelming feeling when you realized how many different kinds of dresses there are out there? For instance, there is fit and flare, mermaid, a-line and ball gowns just to name a few. Now that I have been thinking about getting married, I will admit I have been fantasizing about finding my perfect dress. That one dress that my husband will see me walk down the aisle in. That one memory he will hold with him forever and it has got me very excited!
Dresses that I have been noticing I love (this month anyways) all have lace involved in one aspect or another. In my eyes, lace is stunning, classy, elegant and just so beautiful. I will say, there are times that lace can look over the top (the dress Toula wears in My Big Fat Greek Wedding comes to mind), but if done right I believe it to be a show stopper. If I'm dreaming really big, below are some dresses that have caught my eye.

This dress. I don't know what to say about it other than WOW! This is a Pnina Tornai Sweetheart Mermaid Gown. I absolutely love how this dress accentuates the body in all the right ways! That touch of sparkle in the belt really ties everything together. I love how there are skinny straps that help hold everything in place! The lace is so classy but do I appreciate how its less modest than the previous dress.

This georg dress is by Vera Wang. I absolutely love the silhouette. I love that the top of the dress is almost in that sweetheart shape but that lace overlay adds just the right touch of something extra. I think this is just so classy and modest and would be perfect for any church wedding. I am not sure about the bow belt as it is a little over the top for me. I think maybe a belt that is encrusted in crystals may be more fun for this look or even a solid belt in a cream color.

This dress is designed by Monique Lhuillier. It is the V-Neck Sheath Gown in Chantilly lace. This one is just stunning!! I love the neckline and the slit up the leg. I love that it seems to be modest and then there is that nice pop of the slit to show off your legs! This one gets an A+.
This dress is designed by Allure Bridal. Allure has some pretty amazing dresses so it was hard to pinpoint one. When I saw this dress though, I fell in love with it. I think this embodies everything that one envisions a princess bride to be. It has all the great elements of a Ball gown with that extra bit of tulle and of course lace. It is so tastefully done. I can't wait to try on a few of these princess dresses!
Preparing this post has helped me take a tour of just what is available out there in this new bridal land! I can't wait to try on dresses with my Mom, Best friend and Sisters!! I am truly looking forward to it!
XO-
Cor
