Best of Holiday Romantic Comedies!!

Merrrrry Christmas Eve to all my faithful readers!

This is my favorite time of year to sit and snuggle up with my favorite people and watch my all time favorite holiday romantic comedies! Not only are most of these feel-good movies, let's talk about the amazing fashion (for their time periods of course)! Here are my top 5 movies to watch this time of year. It was SO hard to narrow the list I might add!

Coming in at number 5 Serendipity. GAH - this one for sure pulls at your heartstrings!

Serendipity's story per Wikipedia goes like this, "Serendipty is a romantic dramady about how the hand of fate affects two people who meet by chance at Christmas in New York. During the Christmas season in New York City, Jonathan Trager (John Cusack) meets Sara Thomas (Kate Beckinsale) trying to buy the same pair of black cashmere gloves at Bloomingdale's. They feel a mutual attraction and despite the fact that each is involved in other relationships, they end up sharing dessert at Serendipity 3 together, where Sara reveals her opinion that fate determines a lot of her decisions in life. "
If you haven't seen this one, I highly recommend you watch it this holiday! Also, take a look at the fashion and hair styles of the early 2000's. On point!

Coming in at number 4, Four Christmases. OK- how much does everyone love this movie?! I found it totally funny this year that they are playing it on AMC even though it was made in 2008.

Four Christmases story per Wikipedia goes like this, "Brad (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon) are an upscale San Francisco couple. Having both come from dysfunctional families, with divorced parents and siblings with out-of-control kids, the two disdain the idea of getting married or having kids. In an effort to avoid their families at Christmas, the two go on vacation abroad while pretending to be doing charity work there. The third Christmas of their relationship, Brad and Kate are trapped at San Francisco International Airport by a fog-bank that cancels every outbound flight, and interviewed by a news crew, alerting their families to the fact they're stuck at home for the holidays."

There is an amazing little twist at the end, and this movie will keep you laughing the whole time. Reese's looks are totally on point this entire movie (give or take one or two scenes).

Coming in at number 3, Baggage Claim!! Baggage Claim is new to my list as it was made in 2013. I am obsessed with the plot and have added it to my favorite holiday movies!

Baggage Claim's story per Wikipedia goes like this, "Pathologically single, 30-something, flight attendant, Montana Moore (Paula Patton) is on a mission to get her overbearing, frequently married, mother (Jenifer Lewis) to stop pressuring her to get married. After being jilted by her only prospect (Boris Kodjoe) just as her younger sister, Sheree (Lauren London), becomes engaged, Montana and her friends (Adam Brody and Jill Scott) devise a plan to help her find a potential husband before Sheree's wedding. Over the course of 30 days, Montana flies all over the country (with the help of a colorful team of coworkers) hoping to reconnect with a litany of ex-boyfriends that include a misogynistic politician (Taye Diggs), an irresponsible entertainer (Trey Songz) and a commitment-shy multi-billionaire (Djimon Hounsou)."

While this may not be screaming holiday, it takes place in the winter time, their looks are on point, and that's really enough for me! If you haven't seen this one, I highly recommend it!

Coming in at number 2, Love Actually. Another OMG, yes, obsessed, holiday favorite of mine!

Love Actually per Wikipedia, goes like this, "The film begins with a voiceover from David (Hugh Grant) commenting that whenever he gets gloomy with the state of the world he thinks about the arrivals terminal at Heathrow Airport, and the pure uncomplicated love felt as friends and families welcome their arriving loved ones. David's voiceover also relates that all the messages left by the people who died on the 9/11planes were messages of love and not hate. The film then tells the 'love stories' of many people."

MUST WATCH, classic British film.

Lastly, coming in at number 1, my most favorite holiday/fashionable rom com of all time is...... THE HOLIDAY!!!

The Holiday, per Wikipedia, goes like this, "Iris Simpkins (Kate Winslet), a society column editor for The Daily Telegraph in London, has been in love with Jasper Bloom (Rufus Sewell) for over three years, despite his countless infidelities in his previous relationships. When she finds out that he is engaged to the "other woman," Iris despairs over the state of affairs in her life. Meanwhile, Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz), a workaholic who owns a company that produces movie trailers in Los Angeles, discovers that her live-in boyfriend Ethan Ebbers (Edward Burns) has been cheating on her with his 24-year-old secretary. She decides she wants to get away for the holidays and visits a home swap website on which Iris had previously listed her "quaint cottage in Surrey." Amanda contacts Iris about her interest. Iris quickly agrees and the two agree to swap homes for two weeks.

If you have been living under a rock and haven't seen this movie, watch it tonight with your family! It's a true classic, not to mention such a fashionable film.

Well, that will wrap up this Best of Holiday Rom Com's. I hope you love watching the fashionable, amazing, tear-jerking films as much as I do this time of year. Merry Christmas Eve to all, and to all a good night!

Until next time readers,

XO-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Trendy Festival Wear - 2016

Hello there to my favorite readers! Festival season is now officially upon us. One thing I noticed this year is that the fashion retailers are advertising specifically to the festival goer, making it easier than ever to find your perfect look. It doesn't seem like it has changed too much since last year, besides there is even more of a 70's vibe mixed with the 90's in these looks. However, we still have the obvious staples -- the  headbands, the crop tops and the ripped jeans. Lets dive right into some of the best festival looks this season and how they can transition into your summer wardrobe and beyond! Grecian style shoes . I mean, perfection. I mean, say no more! These shorts ,some denim, a big hat and a choker! Your comfy and trendy! Georgy Georg bright colored dress . Pompom Playsuit . Need it! PS, is playsuit the new word for romper!? Braided headband!? I want it and Im not going to a festival! Obsessed with this v...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancé   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
