Happy Anniversary corStyle- Year 1 in Review

Happy Anniversary to corStyle! I can hardly believe its been a year since I started this labor of love! About a year ago I made several positive life changes. I moved cities, got engaged, started a new exercise program that changed my life and finally got the nerve to create corStyle. I had wanted to start this blog for several years but never had the courage to do so or thought that anyone would actually value my opinion. It wasn't until I moved and found myself unemployed that I decided I needed to spend  half of my energy each day working on myself and my passion. Thus, corStyle was born and it ended up working like a charm for me! I fell madly in love with fashion all over again and learned I was obsessed with writing about things I actually enjoyed (go figure).

CorStyle has transformed over the past year from more of a styling gig to a fashion blog. In the last few months, I have began styling again as my network in my new city is finally growing (these things take time). I still hold on to my dream of blogging and styling one day as my full time career. Until then, I will have my 9-5 job and continue blogging to remind myself that one day I will do what feeds my soul 24/7. The biggest thank you goes out to everyone who reads my blog, shares it on social media, comments and emails me. It is truly one of the biggest joys of my life.

This past year we covered everything from award show styles, to current trends, to colors of the moment, to readers burning questions, to iconic fashion moments on television and even focusing on some of my own style my clients style and even have turned corStyle into corBridal on more than one occasion! It has been so much fun researching different ideas and even more fun going back in time reminiscing on things I wrote.

I'm going to go eat some cake to celebrate birthday numero uno! I hope you will celebrate with me too!

Until next time fashion friends,

XO-
Cor

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancé   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
