Dressing Diaries - Annual Ugly Sweater Party 2015

Hi there Readers!

How are you all doing? I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far!! Can you believe that we are barreling through December this quickly? Mr. corStyle and I have been traveling so much that we don't even have our tree up yet! Its like we got married in October and ever since its been go, go, go! December is one of my favorite times of year as I've mentioned before. Its finally cold, its finally time to eat butter, cream and sugar and not hide it and wear big cozy sweaters!!! I hope everyone is getting to partake in the joys of the season too.

We had the joy of visiting my side of the family to celebrate our annual Ugly Sweater Party this year. I have been missing it the last few years since we moved away from my sisters, but this year we were able to attend and it was the best!

The tradition started many years ago with our father. His birthday was right after Christmas and we decided it would be fun if we could throw a party with everyones friends and family and roll in our Papa's birthday so it was special and separate from our Christmas celebration. Boy, did this turn out to be a big hit, and thus the tradition was born!

This years sweater party was no exception. We dressed up, ate delicious fondue and drank fresh cranberry and lime vodka cocktails all night long. It is such a festive and fun tradition and one my Papa would have been proud of.

These two lovely people made these sweaters! How funny and amazing are they!!!! This was seriously the best and she ended up winning the disco ball grand prize of the evening!

Just looking through these pictures again is making me laugh! What a fun night.

What I wore:
Sweater: Homemade
Plaid Shirt: Ace Delivery
Bow: Borrowed.

What Mr. corStyle wore:

Fresh snow! It's been years since I have seen any!!!! (I know, sorry for those of you back East who get it all the time!!)

Do any of you celebrate the holidays with an "Ugly Sweater Party"? If so, sound off below!

Until Next Time Readers!

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancé   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
