#NYFW Trends

Readers!! It's New York Fashion Week which means Christmas in February at corStyle!! There have been so many incredible designers hitting the runways for shows of a lifetime!! I thought it would be so much fun to see what is trending at #NYFW so we can all be informed of what to look for come the Spring time.

Modern Milatary Vibes:

Marc Jacobs pushed the fashion envelope back to the 1950's for a modern military chic vibe. I love the black chunky "field jacket" shown below and the kelly green of the dress above as its an updated military shade.

Shown below, is another modern military look that Ralph Lauren showed. I absolutely love that the pencil skirt is still in for Spring! I also love the all green look with the cognac accessories. This look transitions well into the "real world" so to speak.

Hippie Glam:

I was very excited to see what Oscar De La Renta's house was going to put out this season after he passed away late last year. I love that they have stayed true to the times and offered some crop top glam this season!! I could totally see this look making its way onto the red carpet on one of our favorite stars ASAP! I love the crop top vibe, but also the lovely, bright spring colors. This is one of my favorite looks of the week!

The white two piece skirt and shirt dress pay homage to a girly, softer hippie side if you will. I love the cutouts and the crop top here as well. I think its safe to say the higher crop is here to stay for another season!

Under the Sea Bling:

Designers Rodarte and Delpozo went for a very whimsical, almost ocean themed look this season. I for one LOVE the glitz and the glam of the looks. Its not your everyday inspiration and I don't know how practical it truly is, but it sure is pretty to look at.

Classic American Sportswear:

I love Michael Kors as a designer. I think he does a good job of mixing high end pieces and price points while his Michael By Michael Kors brand reaches the masses at a lower price point. I loved the classic vibe he was going for this season. See below and let me know your thoughts too!

Jackie O Vibes:

Carolina Herrera is an amazing designer. I love looking for her classic pieces each season. This Spring, her runway glamor was catapulted to another level by the below looks. Talk about giving the viewer some Jackie O vibes!!! LOVE!

Creamy Pastel Color Schemes:

Of course for Spring, you would expect to see bright colors and this year was no exception. Below are a few of my favorite pieces in the pastel color scheme!

 The Updated Gladiator

This look is half gladiator, half safari and full parts major!!!! I adore this look and in fact I must say its my favorite look of the week thus far. I am not sure if the only place in "real life" you could wear this would be on a safari, a cruise or to the pool, but I in fact love it.

This wraps up my fashion week trends. I hope you all learned a little something and will be able to find whats trending in a store near you shortly!

Until next time fashion friends!

XO-

Wedding Wednesday- Best Dresses to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Wedding season is upon us and if your like me, you have just started going to all the weddings of the season! My inspiration for this post came from  Elle Magazine . They did an amazing article on the best looks to wear to a wedding and it got me thinking about wanting to give my readers some tips and highlight a few looks for these special days. Weddings are a lot of fun to go to and you always want to look your best for when you are seeing your friends and family! Here are a few rules to get you started: 1) No cream or white-- Please do not be that one person all the others are giving dirty looks to because you wore an all white look to a wedding. I think having cream or white come through in your look in some way is totally great, especially in these summer months. However, just don't have your entire dress be white. I have seen this done before and its not well received. 2) Pay attention to what the invitation says the attire will be-- If the invitation says blac...

Dressing Diaries- ASOS Sheath Dress

It's about that time to start another reoccurring series entitled Dressing Diaries . I thought it would be fun to give you a peak into how I style myself and how some of my favorite looks come together. Start of dressing process:  Very late at night, the day before an event (nothing like a fair amount of procrastination), I always ask my sweet  fiancĂ©   to take a picture of my outfit. By the time I get to the pictures, I have narrowed down the look to two or three different choices. PS- this is a really good tip if you haven't tried it before.  I know that sounds funny, but in todays world where there are so many pictures taken its important for you to be able to visualize the final look so you aren't left disappointed. It is also good to be able to see what shoes look best and what accessories complete the ensemble.  Completion of dressing process : I went with nude lace up heels (you can find something similar to purchase here ) and opted...
